Im just trying to find a list of ambitious games that deserve a spotlight for their complexity, things that are very worth supporting, in case others also want or are looking for such games. True, but there are some potential games out there that are almost able to reach the snowy caps of the Dwarf Fortress Mountain through equipment like mods or even with their own two feet. Some other stuff out there that's more base-building/simulation but I'm kind of overloading here. Heard some good things about Unreal World, KeeperRL, NeoScavenger. Project zomboid has some similarities with CDDA, not as deep tho. It's still in EA and honestly may not be what you're looking for, although I thought it's a game worth keeping an eye on.
Anyways, that's a good game if you haven't played it yet. I believe you could look into mods to experiment and add difficulty. I start thinking about games like subnautica.
